Question: I am a fifth year senior at a 5 year D1 college. I redshirted last year so I could paticipate in my 5th year. It has just come to my knowledge that I can graduate at the end of winter term. This would be early graduation since everyone else graduates in the spring. (it is a trimester school. My sport seanson is fall and spring with winter indoor training. I was wondering if I were to graduate early at the end of winter term could they take away my scholarship money? Since I will not be participating in the spring season.

it depends on their 5th year aid policy...also if you signed a scholarship for the entire year they are obligated to pay for the entire year

Scenario: A sophomore at a div II school with a sports scholarship wants to transfer. Can they contact coaches at other schools directly about transfering into their program and about funding? What is the best way to go about making the transfer? Would they have to sit out for their first year at the new school?

tranfer rule 4 year to 4year d-1. freshmen transfer after 1st semester, how many years of basketball can he play? 2 1/2 or 3 1/2?

Scenario: I Medical redshirted at an NCAA D2 school (for Basketball) my freshman year in 1999-2000. The next year I transferred to a different school but didn't play, just went to school. I then took a couple of years off of school to serve a two year mission for my church, and came back and played one year for a Jr. College in the NJCAA. I then transferred to a four year NAIA school and played last year and am playing this year. In NAIA this is my last year to play. Two questions: First, can I transfer back to an NCAA D2 school at semester and play? Second, If I transfer to an NCAA D2 school, can I play one more year since this is technically only the third year i've played?

Coaches at my school are trying to take scholarships away from players who are on 'medical disqualification' that have not broken any rules or guidlines, they have simply stated "we see no reason to keep you on scholarship."

In addition, they have threatened to revoke scholarships if players didnt sign up for a work-study program. Are my coaches violating NCAA compliance rules?

I play for a Division 3 college. In division 3 , we have JV games against prep schools and club teams. I am a sohpomore and I have never played in a regular season varsity game. I have only played in the JV games. Is there a way I can get a year of eligibility back because I want to transfer where I can still have 3 years left. I only played in 9 JV games.

PRIOR TO COLLEGE I FILED THE NCAA CLEARING HOUSE FORM IN THE EVENT I WISHED TO PLAY COLLEGE BASKETBALL AT THE D-1 LEVEL. HOWEVER, DURING THE 4 YEARS I SPENT AS AN UNDERGRAD, I WAS NOT PERMITTED A WALKON TRYOUT DUE TO THAT COACHES POLICY AT THE TIME.
I WISH TO GO TO GRADUATE SCHOOL, AND WISH TO PLAY D-1 BASKETBALL.
DO I HAVE ANY ELGIBILITY LEFT, IF SO IS THERE ANY KIND OF RESTRICTING TIME FRAME, OR NOT?
PLEASE RESPOND WHEN POSSIBLE.
THANKYOU

Can a high school senior play indoor field hockey on a team with a Division I college coach. It is a regional tournament organized by and run by the NAPL (an outside organization). This tournament and group has been in existance for some 10 years now. I believe it is OK and referring to rule 13.11.3.4.2

My son graduates in May and has one year remaining of football eligibility. He wants to take advantage of the new rule allowing him to transfer ,penalty free, and attend grad school at his new school.I have received a permission to contact form from his current school, however ,his compliance officer says they may be changing that rule next year which would really mess up the works.Unfortunately his current school won't give him a full year or allow grad school participation as some classes conflict with practice time.Any advice?

However, my coach contacted me and wants me to play this spring. If I am enrolled for second semester am I still eligible to play in the spring even though I wasn's enrolled this fall?

My son went to a two year community college two years ago. He accumulated 12.5 hrs of credit. The community college has no football team. Now two years later he has enrolled at an NCAA Division II school and would like to play on the football team this coming fall. Is he eligible? Someone told him that a person must transfer with 24 credits to play football. Keep in mind the other school did not have a football team.

Im a junior in college. I attended a JC football program for 2yrs and then signed a Div. 2 scholarship where I participated in 3 games before being sidelined due to injury. The school really wasnt for me so I left at the end of the year. I sat out last season so that I could recover and be eligible to go D1 if the oppurtunity came. My questions to you are this...I do have the ability to play on the next level with that said I basically lost a full season only playing 3 games!? Is there any way that I can receive a med. redshirt for that year and how many more years of eligibility should I have left? Keep in mind I took a year off after my last season. Thank you

Question: A student goes to a college to study business and play football for four years. Upon graduation the student finds that they don't like the business world and wants to go back to college for a teaching degree. While there is no eligiability left for football would this student be permitted to play another sport, such as baseball?

A Student wants to transfer schools for hockey (D1 to D1), i know u have to redshirt at the school, but are you allowed to go back and play in some jr hockey games if there is a team in the area?

I am currently at a D-1 school playing lacrosse. I transferred in this semester (spring) after graduating from a junior college in 3 semesters. I have yet to play a minute in any game yet and the season is half-way over so can I take a redshirt now and not lose this year of eligibility (I didn't play at all in the fall either)? Also, can I wait until the end of this season and apply for a redshirt retroactively if I still have not played in any of the games? Thanks.

Regarding medical red-shirting, how long does a player have to file a waiver? What percentage or amount of games played in a season can a student-athlete be considered for red-shirting?

My son plays football for a D-III school. Last year as a freshman, he DID NOT play in a single game. He suited up for the first three, but did not get in. He played in 2 freshman team games and was injured in the second one. After 4 weeks in cast he was cleared and played in another freshman team game...then suited up for a regular varsity game but again did not play. He then reinjured himself and was out for the balance of the season. So, in summary, he suited up for 4 regular varsity games but did not play 1 second. He DID play in three varsity games. He was told he was denied a medical redshirt. Do you think he should/could receive a medical redshirt at D-III level? This sounds odd to me that he cannot get a medical redshirt because he did not play. Where can I find the rules on this?

Can a coach cut your scholarship even though you have gotten hurt during the school year in atlethics and had to have surgery?

If NCAA has cut scholarship funds to a college, can a coach cut an athlete scholarship just to recruit more athletes?

I was denied a medical redshirt from my JR. college because of bogus reasons. had all medical documents, but coach was mad because I changed shools and blocked my medical redshirt. I am now at a D1. Can my DI school reapply for my MRS. I have medical documentation and evidence.
